ALICE represents individuals and households who earn just above the Federal Poverty Level but less than what it costs to make ends meet. ALICE workers often struggle to keep their own households from financial ruin while keeping our communities running.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

Our VITA program partners with NWTC in Marinette and utilizes IRS-certified volunteers that provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.  Our VITA site offers free tax help to people who generally make $64,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers.  In addition to VITA, the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program offers free tax help, particularly for those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors.
